We are expanding our hard-working, snacks-loving board for 2018 with the following positions:

• Board Member (2-year term; may be extended)
  Advise, govern, oversee the direction, promote growth, ensure financial health and assist with the leadership and general promotion of Urban ArtWorks. Meet in person monthly, actively participate in Urban ArtWorks committees, communications, fundraising efforts, and events.

• Board Secretary (2-year board term; 1 year as Secretary; may be extended)
  Board member duties plus: Responsible for maintaining board calendar, meeting minutes, and materials. Maintains and updates by-laws and online document archive. Member of executive committee.

• Board Treasurer/Development Chair (2-year board term; 1 year as Treasurer/Dev. Chair; may be extended)
  Board member duties plus: Oversee the organization’s finances and budgets in partnership with Director and accounting support. Work with Director to develop and track annual budget, ensure accuracy of monthly financial reports, develop and track fundraising goals and strategies in collaboration with Community and Events Chair; Establish and chair Finance & Development Committee. Acts as co-signatory (along with Director) for bank actions. Member of executive committee.

All candidates must be available to meet in person on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Urban ArtWorks studio in Seattle (6-8PM) to be considered. Candidates applying for Secretary and Treasurer/Development Chair must have additional availability for executive committee communications and activities.

Preference will be given to applicants with prior nonprofit board experience and/or relevant volunteer experience- but all are welcome to apply.

Candidates applying for the Treasurer/Development Chair role must have professional experience in finance and budgeting.
