Urban ArtWorks is partnering with the City of Burien to host a Mural Arts Program this summer. This year, we’ll be activating 12 mural locations across Burien. We’re excited to share more about the murals and artists in a series of posts.

The mission of Para Los Niños de Highline is to support the success of the Latin American community by building leadership skills, celebrating diversity, promoting art expression, and cultivating lifelong curiosity.
The mural’s message is that childlike imagination and exploration foster growth, joy and abundance. The composition starts with a smiling young boy emoting joy and hopefulness. The bubbles and sunflowers, with eyes at their centers, represent boundless dreams and imagination. Flowing trails of petals symbolize migration and movement. Paper airplanes and their trailing paths represent exploration, learning, and discovery. Monarch butterflies symbolize migration, community growth, and individual growth.
