Urban ArtWorks partnered with the City of Burien Economic Development team to launch the Burien Tourism Mural Art Program. Through this initiative, 12 professionally designed murals are coming to Burien’s commercial districts, celebrating local artists, supporting businesses, and shaping public spaces throughout the city. We’re excited to share more about the murals and artists in this series of posts.

Coffee House & Lounge is a neighborhood gathering place in Burien, offering coffee, tea, and a welcoming space for people to connect. The business is located in a community shaped by a rich diversity of cultures. In particular, the City of Burien, as well as the Boulevard Park neighborhood surrounding the mural, is home to the largest Vietnamese community in King County.

A vibrant mural celebrating the beauty of Pacific Northwest nature and the rich cultural heritage of Burien’s Vietnamese community. Inspired by the strong Vietnamese presence in Boulevard Park and throughout Burien, the artwork honors the local businesses, families, and community spaces that contribute to the neighborhood’s identity. With four Vietnamese-owned businesses located in the surrounding buildings and Our Lady of Lourdes Vietnamese church just around the corner, the mural offers an opportunity to celebrate cultural heritage, community connection, and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
