Volunteers make the world go ‘round. Throughout the year, we rely on the community to get creative and show their support for Urban ArtWorks. We have a variety of opportunities to engage, whether you are looking for something long-term, or just have a couple of hours to spare! Community Volunteering & Paint Days
Help out with upcoming volunteer paint day or other community volunteer event. We’ll post upcoming paint days below! Complete the general volunteering form to stay informed about upcoming paint days and more volunteer events.
August Paint Days
Join us for some community mural painting days in beautiful South Lake Union! We are excited to be producing murals created by the youth artists in our Base Crew Program, made in partnership with Vulcan Real Estate.
Painting events are scheduled:
Monday (08/18) from 10 am – 3 pm
Tuesday (08/19) and Thursday (08/21) from 4 pm – 7 pm
Saturday (08/23) from 10 am – 4 pm
Tracing will occur the week prior on Wednesday (08/13), 8:15 pm – 11:30 pm.
Sign-ups are offered in 90-minute slots— however, feel free to sign up for as many as you like. Make sure to wear clothes you can paint in, and bring sunscreen and hydration. All ages and abilities are welcome, and skilled painters are especially welcome towards the end of the days to assist with touch-ups.
Volunteer Opportunities Include
- Joining a community paint day, which allow volunteers, artists, and youth to work together to install new artwork or touch up existing murals around the city.
- Supporting the logistics of our annual community celebration and fundraising event
- Becoming a school-based programs volunteer
- Assist in graffiti removal
- Participating in mural prep and artist support
- Joining our Board of Directors
- Contributing your photography and video production talents
